Houma is located in Terrebonne Parish which is centered between the Mississippi River and the Atchafalaya River. It has been said that the Atchafalaya Basin is one of North America's greatest remaining Estuaries. That being said, it is no wonder why the waters around and below Terrebonne Parish are so rich with fish and wildlife. It is also said and we can attest to it that South Louisiana is one of the best, if not the best, place to fish in the Country for Speckled Trout and Redfish.
Inland fishing offers Redfish, Speckled Trout, Black Drum, Flounder, Sheepshead and many more. Coastal and near coastal offers all of the before mentioned as well as Snapper, Cobia/Ling/Lemon fish, King Mackerel and many others.
Although April through September is considered the prime time of the year to fish, we have caught limits all year long with the exception of February. The cold fronts along with high pressure really slowed the fishing down.
With the weather being a little more predictable in March, the reds and trout are much more active and easier to find. This is the time the fish move out of the marsh and into the local lakes to chase shrimp. April, May and June will offer superb trout fishing with an occasional 5 or 6 lb fish. June begins the calmer months of summer offering great offshore fishing for snapper, cobia and kings!
Our two Captains are Captain Gerald Ellender and Captain Joshua Ellender. We have fished the Dularge area for the majority of our lives and have a combined experience of over 50 years.
